The Guitar itself works just fine along with everything that came with it but the shipping was bad and left a piece of the guitar chipped off during the process. If your looking for something only to learn how to play on then its a great buy if your want something flashy to show off then you might not want to take the chance.

I'm a beginner in playing the electric guitar and I decided to purchase Silvertone SS11 guitar and amp pack, Sunburst. When the package arrived I opened it up and took everything out, pluged in the SMART IIIs amp turned it on and it worked. Took out the Silvertone SS11 guitar pluged it into the amp and it worked.
Now bear in mind I am a true beginner, I have never tuned a guitar in my life. I took out the electronic tuner put the batteries in and it worked. Belive it or not I tuned my SS11 with the tuner and it was very easy just follow the instructions..
Everything that came with the pack worked. I am very pleased with the purchase of my Silvertone SS11. The only disapointment I had was that a paper booklet did not come with the instructional DVD. The instructor referes to a book during the lessons.
Other than that...simply awesome....

We ordered this for Christmas for my son. First of all the advertising picture along with the product description showed 2 guitars; not one (as it does now). Misleading and yes, we were stupid thinking the price included two, but it was misleading. I bet we weren't the only ones that purchased on the basis of the picture and product description.
When we received the guitar which you have to unpack to make sure everything is in working condition (see ZZounds exceptions and disclaimers), we determined that the tuner box did not work because the batteries do not connect in the cheap plastic container, rendering it useless, and the wammy bar was cross-threaded. There was also something wrong with how the strings were to be tightened at the bottom, but I don't have the correct guitar lingo to explain it.
The guitar itself - if you don't play it, is beautiful. The amplifier works. This was a major disappointment considering it was a lot of money to pay for broken parts. Oh, by the way, made in China. We could have bought a similar one at Sam's Club AND have been able to return it. Very disappointed.

I got this guitar about a month ago and it's pretty good. The guitar itself is great for a beginner like me, the only thing was that the shipping box was pretty beaten up. The guitar itself was fine though, and for the price it's a pretty good buy.
